Or, you may find the Jonny Mogambo Band throughout the club scene in any of its forms from the three piece power trio to the nine piece funk rock rhythm and groove band.
Winter 2013-14 is upon us and it is already shaping up to be a great one. We have had a lot of early season snow and we are looking forward to a strong start for the 2013/14 ski season. I have some great new gigs lined up this winter. I will continue my solo acoustic rock show every Monday and Tuesday at Garfinkel's in Lionshead and they are celebrating their 20th year open. Garfinkel's is bringing back old school apres ski like we did it 20 years agos promising old school fun. Shot skis? Dancing on the bar? Streaking Lionshead? Dancing like nobody's watching? I can't wait! Come on out for a good time.
I will also be playing a new gig this winter up in Beaver Creek at McCoy's slopeside at the base of the mountain. This is a hot spot for apres ski and I will be there most Wednesdays through Sundays. If the weather is nice, the show will be outside on the deck. This is THE place for apres ski in Beaver Creek, so come on out for the fun. Check the calender for specific dates.

Some highlights for 2012/2013 were some excellent parties all over Colorado and nationwide. Stops in Clarksdale Miss., Memphis TN, Charleston SC and Jekyll Island Georgia made for an interesting June. We re-united with Taj Mahal bass player Bill Rich for a great party at the Lazy J Ranch in the Vail valley. Some highlights from past performances where runs through Chicago, Michigan and Madison Wisconsin for mad party in mad town where I got to ride an elephant into the party. Mark that one off the bucket list! Please see the calender for recent and upcoming dates.
It was a great winter for the 2012 season that saw the band doing some great local shows in the Vail valley and Jonny Mogambo playing slopeside five days a week at Garfinkel's in Lionshead and Pepi's in the village. In the spring of 2011 we opened up for Buckwheat Zydeco for the Carnivail festival and we also opened for the Grey Boy Allstars for the Spring Back to Vail concert series.

Past Highlights and Stories:
Check out this recent interview live with Jonny Mogambo slopeside on TV 8 in Vail closing week during the Spring Back to Vail concerts and end of season fesitvities.
Here is an interview I did prior to the band playing the Taste of Vail at this years Cascade Ballroom.
Recently we had some great dates in December and ended the 2010 year playing a New Years Eve date at The Glenmoor country club in Denver. The bass player Bill Rich from the Taj Mahal band joined us for this and with Kyle Comerford on drums and Andrew Vogt on the saxophones, it was a night to remember. Jonny Mogambo is also back to five nights a week in the Vail Valley during his winter time 2011 stay in the mountains. Check out the Calender page for all upcoming show.
When Taj Mahal came through town in the spring of 2009, it was great to hang with Taj and the rythm section of Bill Rich and Kester Smith, two alumni of the Jonny Mogambo Band. Bill played with the band for six years before going back on the road with Taj Mahal and it is a real treat to hang with one of our early idols and we give thanks to Mr. Bill Rich for making the introduction. We also caught up with Bill Rich at the Blues and Brews festival in Telluride this summer where Bill played a Saturday event with the Jonny Mogambo band and then Sunday we hung out back stage with Taj Mahal, Bonnie Rait and some great artists from around the world. There is an incredible vibe in Telluride and The Jonny Mogambo Band brings this with them wherever they go.
We played BB Kings in Memphis on a tour of the Delta hitting Oxford Mississippi and stopping for a spiritual experience at the crossroads in Clarksdale Mississippi playing Morgan Freeman's club Ground Zero in the hometown of Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Son House to name a few. We where flown to Las Vegas to play the House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay. We where treated as rock star royalty as we where picked up on the runway in our own private limosine and later rocked the room at the House of Blues. It was a night that all involved will remember. And a highlight from late 2008 was hanging out and talking for hours with BB King after his show at the Volar center in Beaver Creek. It was amazing to share stories and our love and passion for music and the life it has created for all of us!
If you have not seen the new lineup for the Jonny Mogambo Band, get out and check it out as they have added female vocals and horns to the power guitar, bass, and drum funk trio.
